This road is an account of the commercial activity in the region in the Middle-Ages.
Stop at the toll gate. You cannot pass just like this!
To pay your custom duties, you must find out the coordinates which will lead you to the treasure.

N 46°AB.E
E 006°0D.CF

Look at the nearby information boards. They will provide you help to resolve this:

In 1304 A.D. the amount collected at the tool gate of Chalamont  was:

« 242 livres » (pounds) and:

A = number of « deniers »
B = number of « sous »
C = number of « oboles »
(The « obol » was an ancient Greek currency of little value. Nowadays, the word is used in French to describe a very little amount of money or a small donation).
D = price in “livres” for the passage of a "robe".

AT the end of the 14th century, the toll gate was leased to Pierre Godard. At what price?
Add this price (in florins, former currency of Burgundy) to the two last digits of the concerned year. The result gives you E.

Finally count the number of characters of the fir trees tourist route (Route des Sapins) carved on a nearby bench. If each character pays 1.54 pound, what is the total amount collected? Round the sum up to find F.

You now have all the cards in hand to find the treasure.
You are rewarded for your efforts. Please take only one object from the box and do not forget to put a new one in, or you may have to pay a surcharge!

“Sapin Président” (President fir tree)
Spring of river Lison and edge-tool factory museum in Nans-Sous-Sainte-Anne
